The Smokin Gobbler Cook Off takes place during our communities annual event, King Turkey Day! Competition includes all four KCBS meat categories plus Turkey.  Note: The festival has been cancelled, but the BBQ event is still planned.

Smokin in Steele BBQ and Blues Festival (Cancelled for 2020)

Location: Steele County Fairgrounds , Owatonna, MN

The 13th annual Smokin in Steele BBQ and Blues Festival continues our long tradition of top quality festival experiences. Our KCBS contest is Smokin with Smithfield for the 3rd year in a row. Purse is 11,000 paying to 10th in categories and 10th overall. Our Backyard contest is again a MN BBQ Society TOY qualifier. SCA is a $2000 payout, Kids Q is free registration again. Our BBQ vendors will be top notch again. The Beer Garden will be jumping with our Blues Festival ,voted again as the Best Music Festival in Southern Minnesota. Onsite camping is another plus. Bring’n Home the Bacon – Double

*OFFICIAL: MN TOY 2020 QUALIFIER, 10-17, 10-18*

Location: N5334 Neshonoc Road, West Salem WI

The Bring’n Home the Bacon is a fun filled weekend for barbeque friends and family to get together to share great times and have a little competition as an add-on to the weekend of Oct 16-18, 2020. We offer children to participate in the fun Kids Q competition and adults to participate in the Sam’s Club SCA Steak Competition on Friday evening. Also, teams are more than welcome to join in the KCBS Master/Pro Series, Backyard, and/or the ‘Anything Bacon’ competitions on Saturday and Sunday. All of the events are held at the beautiful and spacious Neshonoc Lakeside Camp-Resort in West Salem WI – electricity and water available to all sites. All teams are invited to share their campsite with another team to help keep costs down. You will find great prize money awarded out to teams and surely will have fun with your friends and family at the Bring’n Home the Bacon BBQ Event !

The KCBS Pro Series and Backyard series are both MN BBQ Society Team of the Year qualifiers!

The BLUE HILLS BAR-B-Q FEST welcomes you to a KCBS Competition in beautiful Rice Lake, Wisconsin on May 31st and June 1st at the Barron County Fair Grounds. On Site Camping is available with 30 Amp electric and water connection. A dump station is also available on site. We are capping entries at 25 and are nearly there, so sign up soon. Flippin Pigs of Peak

Flippin’ Pigs of Peak

Location: Lakeview Arena, Marquette MI

Flippin’ Pigs of Peak Barbeque Competition is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned contest which will allow the winning team to automatically qualify for the annual American Royal and the winning team gets a bung (a whiskey barrel “stopper”) with their name on it in the drawing to get to go to the Jack Daniels BBQ Competition. That bung is put in the winning team’s state/country and then may be drawn for entry into the Jack. BBQ teams and grilling gurus from across the Midwest and Canada will be descending upon Marquette to cook some tasty BBQ and compete for prizes and some serious bragging rights.

12th Annual Smokin in Steele BBQ & Blues Festival.

We are Knights of Columbus raising money for Special Olympics.
2nd year recipient of Smokin With SmithfieldGrant. #smokinwithsmithfield

KCBS sanctioned state championship with $11,000 purse – top 10 per category and top 10 overall ( additional 2 grand when we get to 55 teams).

SCA sanctioned Steak Comp – $2,000 payout

Backyard event – counts toward Backyard TOY

Kids Q – free registration

Rose Festival BBQ

Location: State Center, IA
On June 13-16th, the State Center Community is hosting an Annual Rose Festival celebration, held since 1958. Along with tons of family fun activities and a variety of food vendors, People’s Choice BBQ entrants cook up some ribs in a friendly competition June 14th. Along with our 19th a Annual KCBS BBQ Competition, that has a $5,250 payout! The streets will be lined with local vendors, a car show, fun zones for kids, a parade, entertainment, fireworks, and a beautiful Rose Garden throughout the weekend.
